The Pang family steward who is thoughtful and capable, in contrast to his tactless young master. He offers household hairdressers to serve Baozhu for the wedding. He bows respectfully to Baozhu and hopes their young master might take a liking to her. He considers her superior to the daughter of a poor scholar who looked down on the Pang family despite receiving an enormous bride price.
