Male, Shen Xiuzhen's husband. A man of misfortune whose father died when he was young and whose mother was chronically ill. He was raised by his two older brothers. He and Shen Xiuzhen worked tirelessly to support their extended family, sacrificing their own children for their nieces and nephews. He and Shen Xiuzhen adamantly refused a private settlement after their youngest daughter was killed. They were imprisoned in a basement by their ungrateful relatives and died together holding hands on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2010. After Shen Xiuzhen's rebirth, he remains in 1983 unaware of the future.
