Male supporting character. The little scholar who was betrothed to the original Nie Qinghe. He is a handsome, tall, elegant youth with scholarly bearing, radiating the air of someone immersed in books. He wears an indigo robe sewn by the original Nie Qinghe. He seems dissatisfied with the arranged marriage but never openly rebelled against it. He is cold, aloof, and ungrateful towards Nie Qinghe's devotion, never showing any gratitude for the clothes and care she provided throughout her childhood. He had promised to meet her under the Great Willow Tree west of Chengnan Prefectural Academy but never showed up, causing the original owner to wait in a torrential downpour and eventually fall into a deep pit.
