A middle-aged Taoist who stays in a shabby inn. He helps Xiang He by gathering intelligence, such as learning that the magistrate treasures the study in the rear courtyard of his residence. He flatters Xiang He, calling her Grandma, and tries to accompany her to the capital. He wields a peach wood sword and has real skill, though he previously used his talents for scheming and harming others.
