She is plainspoken yet perceptive, and lives with clarity, always able to face life with a smile. She makes chicken soup for Shan Jiqiu and leaves notes for her. She encourages Shan Jiqiu to let go of the past and look forward, telling her that parents are not something you can choose and the future is hers to change. She has a warm relationship with both Shan Jiqiu and Lu Yun.
