Also known as Old Shen or the scumbag phoenix-man father. He is Liu Xinghe's biological father and Shen Xi's father as well. He is described as thin-framed but strong and sturdy enough that Li Xiuhua could not be moved by him. He is ruthless and self-serving, willing to abandon his daughter Shen Xi to protect his own interests, house, and job. He manipulated Li Xiuhua into accepting abandoning Shen Xi by appealing to their desire for a good life. He arranged for Liu Xinghe to be sent to the countryside through the Zhiqing Office once she recovered.
