Shen Zhiyu's brother. He is married to Wang Xiulan and has sons named Tie Dan and Gou Dan. He defends his family's favoritism toward Shen Zhiyu, arguing that she was frail as a baby and works indoors as a telephonist, unlike him and his wife who work in the fields.
