Father of Shen Xiuxiu and Shen Yaozu, and adoptive father of Shen Anan. He works as a lowly temporary worker and is the main breadwinner of the family. He is violent when angry and feels embarrassed that Shen Anan became a housekeeper (maid), telling others she should have some shame. He was told by his boss that he needs to come in for a talk, which worries his wife who fears he might lose his job.
