Male Ginseng Spirit, also referred to as Shen Lao or Old Ginseng. He appears as a plump, fair-skinned child with a chubby face but speaks with a hoarse, aged voice. He is skilled in medicine and alchemy. He initially grumbled at Zhu Jiuniang for wrapping his mountain in spiderwebs but agreed to help after hearing her request. He created a small porcelain vial of medicine that draws out a person's deepest desires in about five minutes. He lives in an ancient, desolate hill in a mountain range.
