Qin Zongren is the maternal grandfather of Ashura and an outstanding physician and alchemist highly respected throughout Olei Kingdom. He is the creator of the Meridian-Clearing Acupuncture technique and owned a treasured tier-3 furnace made of subterranean shining iron. Initially doting on Ashura due to his grandson's astounding memory and quick mastery of acupuncture, he became furious after Ashura experimented on a black dog and later exploded his alchemy furnace. He dragged Ashura to A Fengtian, then left to travel and cool off, planning to find another furnace.
