He carries a military ID which he asked Lin Mingmei to keep and deliver to his comrades if he dies. He initially asked Lin Mingmei to kill him rather than risk turning into a zombie, wanting to preserve his dignity as a soldier. He collapsed from exhaustion and fever after being moved to the storage room.
