Qin Chu's elder brother, a man in his thirties dressed in brocade robes. He is the head of the Qin Family household. He initially shows extreme disdain for the exiled convicts and is hostile toward Sun Shi despite her being his cousin. He is deeply worried about his wife's difficult childbirth and nearly attacks Shen Wan, mistaking her medical procedure for harm. He names his newborn son A Chou (Ugly).
