Qiao Shiling
Qiao Shiling is the female protagonist and the daughter of the Prime Minister. She is also affectionately called Lian'er by her mother, Madam Qiao. She is married to Young General Su Zhuoguang and resides at the General's residence. She is skilled at playing the qin, though she suffers from stage fright when performing in front of large audiences, only feeling comfortable playing for someone she is familiar with. She is close friends with Zhou Shu, with whom she shares a deep bond. She wears a pure white jade bracelet given to her by Zhou Yan at the lotus appreciation banquet in Yaoguang Palace, which Su Zhuoguang considers a token of love. She is courageous and resourceful, devising a plan to substitute for the injured Zhou Shu in the Crown Princess selection at the Mid-Autumn banquet. She is witty and playful in her interactions with Su Zhuoguang, using humor and affection to get what she needs. She is cautious and strategic, particularly regarding matters connected to the Crown Princess position, which once nearly cost her her life during the Jiunu Mountain forest hunt incident.
