Once an old subordinate of Commander Fu of the Capital Military District. He first married Qiao Man's mother in the countryside, and she gave birth to Qiao Man. After discovering her adultery, he divorced her and married a nurse in the capital (the heroine's mother). He fell gravely ill and died two years before the story begins, entrusting his wife and daughter to Commander Fu before dying.
