Qiao Xiazhi's older brother who is protective and caring toward her. He accompanies her to the city the next day with the letter of introduction. He is married to Chen Li, whom he once saved from death. He worries about Xiazhi's mental state and tries to keep her occupied by suggesting they catch river snails together.
