Also known as the socially awkward elder brother, he was originally a small official in the Ministry of Works. He was a small landowner who lived a decent life until he was pushed by his superiors to take the blame during some conflict. His family includes his parents, wife, and three children (two sons aged nine and four, and a daughter aged seven). They were exiled but allowed to pack some clothes and valuables. They are low-key and grateful for Rong Yan Hui's family's care.
