The chief examiner of the prefectural exam and head official of Shuntian Prefecture. He held an Upper Third Grade rank and came from the Ministry of War, having previously served as Vice Minister of War. He was both a scholar and a soldier, a trusted confidant of the Emperor, and deliberately chose military-themed questions to test candidates.
