An elderly man and the former Chief Imperial Physician of the Tai Hospital. He has been taking care of Young Master Yan (Chen'er) for many years. He is familiar with conventional Chinese medicine but finds Chu Yufu's medical expertise vastly different from what he is accustomed to. He suspects her knowledge comes from Wan Jilin's travels to distant lands. He strokes his beard thoughtfully and shows both concern and admiration throughout the treatment process.
