The Chief of the Imperial Medical Academy and the Emperor's personal doctor. He was sent by the Emperor to examine Chu Mochen, partly out of curiosity to verify the rumor of the Marquis's impotence. He told Chu Mochen he would recover only seven or eight tenths of his vitality after three years of abstinence, but accepted a hundred-tael bribe to tell outsiders the Marquis would be well in two or three years.
