Pei Shujing
A teenage girl and the daughter of Mother Pei, sister of Pei Shuchen. She is affectionately called Xiaojing by her family. She suffers from epilepsy and has a severe seizure on the train, during which she lies on the floor pale and convulsing violently with her eyes rolled back and foam spilling from her mouth. Her condition is described as more severe than previous episodes, and she won't wake up or take medicine. The family traveled all the way from Yanjing specifically to find an old Chinese medicine doctor who has a good record treating epilepsy. After being treated by Su Yuwei with dozens of fine golden needles, her condition stabilizes completely and she eventually regains consciousness, though dazed.
