He initially treated Xi Hongrui harshly because her mistress had looked down upon his Prince. He overheard Xi Hongrui's rejection of the marriage proposal while hiding behind a flowering rock and was hurt by her words. He harbors feelings for Ning Meng. Later in the original story, he becomes a fourth-rank imperial guard and marries Ning Meng.
