Pan Youquan is the owner of the Pan Family Pawnshop on North Street in Lianxi Town. He is from Nan'an Prefecture and was sent to manage the pawnshop as punishment for a past mistake due to youthful arrogance. He is ambitious and wants to use the liquor business cooperation with the Liu family as a stepping stone to return to his main family. Despite his fierce appearance with a full beard and bulging muscles on his arms, he speaks kindly and acts amiably. He values honesty as the most important rule of the Pan family and is sincere in his dealings with the Liu family. Song Tingzhu initially finds him startling but lets down her guard after interacting with him.
