Also referred to as Master or Old Master Shang. He was a renowned chef and master of the Shang family who has passed away. He personally wrote a cookbook containing the collective wisdom of the Shang family ancestors. Before his death, he gave the cookbook to his second disciple Ma Yuanzhong, bypassing both Jin's father and Shang Rong. He instructed Ma Yuanzhong to find the next suitable heir for the cookbook.
