Old Master Du, also referred to as Grandpa Du, is a male elder of the prestigious Du family and the grandfather of Du Linsen and Du Linze. He brought his two grandsons to Qin Yan's countryside home when the youngest grandson suffered from a strange illness that turned out to be an allergic reaction to hydrangea pollen. He is interested in the university research project and wants to secure it for his grandson Du Linsen, who is taking over the family company. He visited Teacher Shi to advocate for the Du Corporation's cooperation. He expressed regret that Qin Yan is married, suggesting he had hoped for a different connection. He considers Qin Yan not good enough for his prestigious Du family due to her countryside background.
