Also known as Chang Ping, the head of the Chang family and father of Chang Mianmian. He is abusive toward his wife and domineering toward his children. He has two concubines, including Concubine An. He is enraged when Chang Mianmian defies him and calls her unfilial. He is kicked by Xin Nian and faints after being seriously injured.
