An Yao's grandfather, an elderly man who lives with his granddaughter. He is strict and disapproving of An Yao's habit of watching commotions. He worked at a factory and was happy after receiving his wages. He was woken up by the gun battle and initially thought he was caught by foreigners. He scolded An Yao for wanting to join the army given her distractible nature.
