The mother of Chu Mochen, who suffered a stroke at the villa and is now paralyzed, unable to speak clearly, and drooling. She was left at the villa while Chu Mochen was away, and she had previously tried to help Chu Mode seize property upon learning her eldest son wouldn't return for New Year. She resents her second son and his wife for her condition, and curses everyone around her, including the imperial physician, Lin Yanran, Chu Mochen, and Madame Zhou. She does not favor Chu Yunxuan, calling him unlucky.
