An elderly county magistrate who reveals to Lin Yue that he is actually Huang, the orphan of Chancellor Meng's old friend. He is considerate and explains that Chancellor Meng sent a portrait through the Prefect to identify him. He arranged for a copy of the portrait to be made by the yamen painter.
