Also referred to as Yi-ge'er or Old Ninth, he is the fourteen-year-old youngest son of Commander Chu and the Old Madam. Initially rebellious, he used books as firewood and ranted about wanting to be a useless general. Under Suian's subtle influence and after a beating from his mother, he has started to at least muddle through his studies without driving tutors to despair. He is proud and arrogant, surrounded by maidservants since childhood, and initially resisted having a tongfang maid placed in his quarters.
