Niao Qingran is a renowned opera artist in his fifties who serves as the head of the Niao School in Jiangbei Opera Garden. He is dressed in a cyan traditional-style long gown and carries a folding fan. Despite his age, he exudes an elegant and serene demeanor, and his clear melodious voice makes him appear much younger. He is the older brother of Niao Qingyin, a scientist who is Yan Qing's idol. When he first sees Yan Qing, he is struck by how much she resembles his sister and is frozen upon hearing her name. The Niao family has been involved in the arts for generations, with Niao Qingyin being the only exception as a scientist.
