Male, Nan Tu's grandfather and the original owner/chef of the old Nanlai Restaurant. He passed away two years ago from a lung disease. He was known for his excellent cooking skills that made the restaurant renowned in the neighborhood. He wanted Nan Tu to pursue an office job rather than become a cook, but she inherited his culinary legacy. He had reopened the restaurant a few streets away from the original location after demolition.
