Dolly's grandfather, an elderly man who came from Ireland to London thirty or forty years ago. He has a good temper that helped him live with Dolly's fiery grandmother. He assists Dolly in running the grocery store and carrying purchased goods. He was astonished by Dolly's bargaining tactics and found her business concepts hard to grasp initially but ultimately accepted them.
