Also referred to as the old man, he is the patriarch of the family and father of Meng Youliang. He is the grandfather of both Meng Sicheng and Meng Chechu. He discovered that Meng Chechu was in love with a man and used this as a tool to create competition between his two grandsons. He transferred power to Meng Sicheng prematurely to force the two brothers to fight, wanting them to abandon feelings for profit. He did not like his second son Meng Youliang's intelligence but tolerated him as a biological son. He orchestrated family matters to maintain control over his grandsons.
