The patriarch of the Meng family, a founding general who stepped down from his position to venture into business and built the Meng commercial empire. He has three sons: Meng Han, Meng Chu, and a third son who went into business. He initially opposed Tao Chuxia's marriage to Meng Han and has always held a bias against her, which extended to Tao Wanxing as well.
