Mao Sanhou, also known as Teacher Mao, is a male teacher at the town's high school who is strict about attendance. He harshly scolded Yi An'an into attending evening self-study sessions. He disapproved of Yi An'an taking a leave of absence to stay with Granny Tao but eventually agreed when he saw her determination, though he was disappointed.
