Male, also called Scabby Asan, a neighbor whose silkworms died from disease. He raises autumn silkworms and sprays pesticide on his mulberry trees out of frustration after no one buys his overpriced leaves. He is accused by Blind Ermao of poisoning the silkworms, but his son Guoqiang reveals that Ermao's family stole mulberry leaves from their trees.
