Female supporting character, the grandmother of Yu Mingyao and Yu Jinnian. She is stern but loving, having raised both children after their parents' passing. She initially scolds them for risking danger but later feels remorse for ignoring their true desires. She decides to pack up and return to Suzhou, vowing to protect the children with every bone in her body. She is referred to as Old Madam Pei by others.
