Liu Zhipeng is Su Tangxue's husband in the novel, son of a textile factory director. A mama's boy under his mother's control, he secretly sabotaged contraception leading to Su Tangxue's repeated pregnancies including triplets. He represents the oppressive patriarchal forces in the story and is complicit in Su Tangxue's suffering.
