Shen Wanqing's aunt who lives at Huaiye Commune, Seventh Production Team. She is greedy and manipulative, having borrowed money from her sister and taken 400 yuan of Shen Wanqing's bride price for her uncle's household. She has three sons (the second was a son and she had twins as her third child). She initially refused to lend textbooks but eventually let Shen Wanqing take them as leverage for debt repayment. She was physically assaulted by Shen Wanqing during the confrontation.
