Deputy Director of the veterinary station who gained his position through family connections—his uncle sits on the Revolutionary Committee. He is arrogant, incompetent (cannot even tell a cow's sex), and lecherous toward Lin Xun. He attempts to harass and bully her, demanding she please him before allowing her to work at the commune. His incompetence is exposed when a cow needs emergency delivery and he cannot help. He is eventually dragged out and fired by Director Hu.
