An eight-year-old boy from Yongzhou, son of Liu Yueshi. He has a thin, pale face and a reddened slightly bleeding forehead from kowtowing. He pleads with Ye Qinglin for food for his mad father, knowing or suspecting her secret. He is filial, sharing his half of a steamed bun with his father despite his own hunger.
