The grandmother of Shen Wanwan and Shen Zhuo. She tends to favor her grandson Shen Zhuo, hiding watermelon for him and feeling guilty when confronted. She is not outright cruel to Shen Wanwan but participates in the family's gender-biased treatment. She cooked a chicken and glass noodle stew where adults ate noodles while children got the meat, yet Shen Wanwan still received only scraps.
