The mother of Lin Wu and wife of Lin Tiezhu. She favored their younger son and treated Lin Wu's family poorly. When Lin Wu contracted consumption, she joined her husband in driving the family out, fearing infection and unwilling to spend money on medical treatment. She gave Lin Wu's family only a thatched cottage and a half-acre sweet potato field with nothing else.
