Bai Ruojiao's grandfather. His ancestors were imperial physicians. He abandoned medicine and went into business, using his medical skills and strategy to navigate various concessions. He accumulated industrial machinery manufacturing data over many years, which became the book Bai Ruojiao later used. He was maliciously reported and sent to a farm during turbulent times. He later cleared his name, joined the army, rose to the rank of division commander, and became the director of the First Military Hospital in Xinjiang Province. He later retired and became colleagues with Qin Lao.
