Also known as Grandpa Liao or Uncle Liao, an elderly man and close friend of Old Qi. He attempted Zhenjiu (acupuncture) on himself after reading a couple of medical texts, believing he had learned essential knowledge from chatting with Cong Lao. This resulted in partial paralysis with his eyes askew and mouth twisted. He was previously imposing and dignified, standing tall with a straight back. He had never had the chance to study when young and was busy fighting in wars, only gaining time to read later in life. He placed extremely high value on education and held himself to high standards.
