A fifth-year student of the Imperial Academy from Jiangzhou. He comes from a poor family; his father died early and his widowed mother raised him and his younger brother. He was recommended by the prefect of Jiangzhou to study at the Imperial Academy. He copies books for bookstores to support his family. He is extremely talented, no worse than Gu Zijin, and is expected to pass the imperial examinations in February. His younger brother Liang Zhongwu was killed by Liao Yiqi. He seeks justice at the Duke of Zhuguo's mansion and later agrees to help Chu Muqing's plan.
