The male head of the Liang State Duke's mansion. He is furious after being reprimanded by the Emperor and allowed to retire. He blames his wife for secretly mobilizing assassins, which led to his daughter Xue'er being caught by Imperial Guards. He feels his family's misfortune is justified due to the bad temper shared by old and young in his family. He decides to live out his days as a wealthy old man and tells his wife to stay away from Xue'er.
