A monk from the Jade Buddha Temple near the county town. He is kind, gentle, and highly skilled in medicine. He often comes up the mountain to gather herbs and occasionally stays overnight at Xie Hanshuo's place when it is too late to return. He provides free medical consultations to the poor in the village. Every time he visits, he leaves behind medicinal herbs such as Panax notoginseng, Dahurian angelica, and mugwort as payment and for treating wounds.
