The village barefoot doctor in Lihua Village. He feels sympathy for Liu-shi's difficult situation as a woman. He examines Gu Nian'an's injury and determines that the tendons were damaged and it could leave permanent damage if not properly treated. He disapproves of the Gu family's continued harassment of Liu-shi and her children.
