Liú Xiǎomǎn's mother, a weak and trembling woman who was nearly died from hardship. She is initially fearful and unsure, but gradually gains confidence in her daughter after witnessing her courage and intelligence. She ultimately agrees to follow Liú Xiǎomǎn to the back mountains, trusting her completely.
